Uri: The Surgical Strike | Vicky Kaushal Reveals How Director Aditya Dhar Turned His Setback Into A Blockbuster
Vicky Kaushal who is currently ruling B-town thanks to 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' is on cloud nine at the moment. The actor has become a really popular name thanks to the Aditya Dhar directorial. Not only him, but the debutante director has also been receiving rave praise. Now, Vicky revealed a very interesting fact about how the film was made in the first place by sheer chance.
In an interview, the actor revealed that back in 2016, Aditya was planning to make a very different movie called 'Raat Baaki' with Katrina Kaif and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. However, when the Uri attack happened, the actor was boycotted and the film was eventually shelved. Dejected, the filmmaker went back to Delhi and began reading about the incident that stopped his directorial debut.
Soon his curiosity turned into burning passion as he read more and more about the attacks, the subsequent surgical strike and met army officials to get more inside information. Finally after six months of extensive research, the script of 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' was made and the rest, as they say, is history. Vicky commented on how strange it was that the very incident which gave Aditya a major career setback became the reason his film is a blockbuster today.
In the meantime, the actor has been enjoying praise from one and all. Not only did he get a special surprise from flight attendants in an aircraft, but the film also made it on an Amul cartoon, which is known for making sketches on topical events.
